Who We Are
Founded in 2016, Wythenshawe Foodbank has grown to four centres across the area, providing emergency food and support to local people in crisis. Demand has sadly risen each year, making donations and community support increasingly important.
To date, we’ve supported more than **8,400 adults and 6,681 children**, distributing over **156,000kg of food**. Behind these figures are local people and families who needed help during a difficult time.
Our foodbank is overseen by a dedicated board of trustees, with Vera and Karl leading day-to-day operations. Together with our volunteers, donors and referral partners, we work to ensure people facing hardship receive a warm welcome and practical support.
Tom Allan
I’m Tom the food bank manager, I’m passionate about helping people and getting to know new people. You’ll see me around our foodbank centers and on the other end of the phone when you ring.
Karl Mcdonald
My responsibilities are running the hub and sorting the donations. You’ll often find me at the sorting hub or on the road delivering food to our centers or collecting donations. I enjoy getting to know our wonderful volunteers at the hub and have a chat and a brew.
