What’s in a food parcel?

Our foodbank provides three days of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food to help you and your household through a crisis.

At Wythenshawe Foodbank, we provide emergency food parcels containing three days of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food for individuals and families.

The Trussell Trust has worked with nutritionists to develop food parcels that support a healthy, balanced diet.

What’s in a foodbank parcel?

A typical parcel includes:

  • Breakfast cereals
  • Soup
  • Pasta and rice
  • Pasta sauce
  • Tinned beans
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tinned fruit
  • Tea or coffee
  • Sugar
  • Biscuits and snacks

Contents may vary depending on the donations and stock available.

Dietary requirements and allergies

Please tell our volunteers about any food allergies or dietary requirements, including gluten-free, kosher, halal or vegetarian needs.

We’ll discuss what’s available and do our best to adapt your food parcel to suit your household.

Toiletries and baby essentials

When stocks allow, we can also offer shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, period products, baby wipes and nappies. Please let our volunteers know if you need any of these items.

Your donations make a difference

Food and toiletry donations help us provide these essentials to local people facing hardship. Every donation supports our foodbank’s work in the Wythenshawe community.
