About
About The Foodbank Network
The Trussell Trust supports communities and churches across the UK to establish and run foodbanks, helping local people access emergency food and support when they need it most.
Foodbanks in the UK
No one should have to go hungry. Yet low incomes, unexpected bills, job losses and difficulties accessing benefits can leave people unable to afford essential food.
Foodbanks provide emergency food, a warm welcome and practical support to people facing hardship. They also work with local referral agencies to help people access advice and address the difficulties behind their crisis.
Why foodbank donations matter
In 2025, foodbanks in the Trussell network distributed more than 2.6 million emergency food parcels across the UK. Although this was lower than in 2024, it remained 45% higher than in 2019, before the pandemic. These figures count parcels distributed, and people may receive support more than once. Food and financial donations help foodbanks continue providing essential support. Here at Wythenshawe Foodbank, your donations help us provide emergency food to local people and families when they need it most.
Working towards a future without hunger
Alongside providing emergency support today, Trussell and local foodbanks are working towards a future where everyone can afford the essentials and no one needs to turn to a foodbank.
